It depends on how sensitive your product is to air, moisture, light or odours. Ask yourself: does it lose taste or aroma quickly, choose a high oxygen barrier, such as EVOH or aluminium. Does it get soft or clump due to moisture, choose a moisture barrier film. Is it sensitive to light, consider an opaque or metallized layer. Because stand up pouches are light and compact, you save on material and transport. They offer a strong barrier and are often reclosable, which helps reduce product loss. You can brand them easily and beautifully with printing, a label or a sticker, and optionally add a window or a matte look, often at lower cost.

To determine the correct size, you need a measuring cup and a (kitchen) scale. Place the measuring cup on the scale and fill it until you reach the weight you want to pack. Now, check how many milliliters the measuring cup is filled with, and you'll know which size you need! See the steps below for visual examples.  Step 1 Place an empty measuring cup on a scale.  Step 2 Fill the measuring cup with the total weight of the product you want to package.  Step 3 Read how many ml there are in the measuring cup. Now you know which size you need!
