ALOxPET is a transparent film used as a protective inner layer in our 3-layer stand-up pouches, including our kraft paper variants. Instead of traditional metallised film (MET PET), we now use ALOxPET, which offers the exact same protection against moisture, oxygen, and light, but with a significantly lower environmental impact.
ALOxPET – Why it's the better choice:
- No metal coating: ALOxPET does not have a metal layer, making it less harmful to the environment while still providing an excellent barrier for your products.
- Premium protection: ALOxPET offers the same protection against moisture (WVTR) and oxygen (OTR) as MET PET, ensuring your products remain optimally protected.
- A step towards sustainability: By switching to ALOxPET, PouchDirect demonstrates its commitment to sustainability and responsible business practices. We also aim to use recycled ALOxPET in the future to reduce our environmental footprint even further.

- Product upgrades: The transition to ALOxPET begins with our brown kraft paper stand-up pouches, including our coffee pouches. Other metallised paper pouches will gradually transition to ALOxPET as well. We already offer a wide range of aluminium-free stand-up pouches directly from stock.
- A powerful combination: These stand-up pouches combine the natural, organic look of kraft paper with the high-performance protection of ALOxPET, providing a sustainable and reliable packaging solution.
